At the library I got some books by the Dalai Lama, a guy named Lightfoot (not Gordon), and a drug dealer-turned-chef. Yes, I'm a fan of stranger-than-fiction nonfiction ... and of the DL. The DL is my favorite religious leader, even though I'm not a practicing Buddhist. He just makes a lot of sense.
I also read a feature article in Spin about the Replacements. All articles on the 'Mats are kind of the same -- "they were all high school drop-outs, drank lots of beer, released a bunch of brilliant records, Bob got kicked out, Slim joined up, more great records, they broke up, then Bob died" -- but it's always great to see them get press. There's always speculation of a reunion in such articles ... we'll see.
Eventually I left the library, dropped off the books at home, and met Bohdan and Matt, who agreed to take me up on my offer of a Sunday clothing stroll 'n' search. We found this baby shoe by the Park, which was odd -- as all single-baby shoe finds are. Do the parents not notice? Might cell phones have something to do with this?

don't know if another parent has already filled you in on this, but is it extremely easy to lose baby shoes. Now, mind you, the shoes aren't being lost off of children who are actually walking; they are from children riding in strollers. Most kiddies hate wearing shoes, and they frequently rub their feet together or whatnot to get the shoes off in any way possible. The kid gets the shoe off, doesn't tell you that as they are happy sans shoe, and you discover somewhere down the line that your baby is uni-shoed. Works the same way with younger babies in just socks as well; my 2-month old baby lost a sock in Target last week, who knows where. Just thought I'd let you know, the poor kids aren't WALKING around shoe-less, they are RIDING around shoeless, and happy about it!

Ditto!
My boys were at Toys R Us yesterday. When my husband came home and called my job telling me they lost a shoe.
